Newgate (c, 2, Into Mischief–Majestic Presence, by Majestic Warrior) ran to advanced billing and overwhelming 1-2 odds Saturday at Del Mar to become the latest ‘TDN Rising Star’ to represent the powerful conglomerate nicknamed The Avengers and an incredible 32nd by Spendthrift Farm’s super sire Into Mischief. The Avengers and Baffert were also responsible for 2020 Horse of the Year Authentic (Into Mischief). Newgate was one of five (and by far the priciest) Into Mischiefs purchased by the group at last year’s September sale.
