Newgate and Hopkins for trainer Bob Baffert and Two Rivers Over for trainer Doug O’Neill are all scheduled to depart Santa Anita Park the night of March 17 for a trip to Dubai. Newgate, winner of the Santa Anita Handicap (G1) March 3, is ticketed for the $12 million Dubai World Cup (G1) at 1 1/4 miles on dirt. Hopkins, most recently second in the Palos Verdes (G3) at six furlongs Feb. 10, will have a second try in the $2 million Dubai Golden Shaheen (G1) at six furlongs on dirt. Last year, the now 6-year-old Quality Road horse finished fourth in the Golden Shaheen.
