Adare Manor (Uncle Mo–Brooklynsway, by Gian’t Gizmo), a three-time Grade I-winning five-year-old mare who has won 10 of 18 starts over a 4-year campaign which included eight graded stakes wins, will skip a date with the GI Breeders’ Cup Distaff and be retired and sold at the Fasig-Tipton November Sale on Nov. 4, according to her trainer, Bob Baffert. She will be offered by Hill ‘n’ Dale at Xalapa as agent.
Donato Lanni picked Adare Manor out of the 2021 OBS June Sale, going to $375,000 to acquire her for Baffert and owner Michael Lund Petersen. She made two starts at two, and won the GIII Las Virgenes Stakes at three. She blossomed at four, winning the GII Santa Maria, GII Santa Margarita, Clement L. Hirsch and GII Zenyatta Stakes.
“She has earned over $2 million,” said Baffert. “She doesn’t owe us anything. She’s lightened up on me a little bit, and I feel she would need a little more time than we have before the Distaff. I have had her around the barn for so long. She’s just the nicest, sweetest horse and I’m really going to miss having her when she goes.”
