Towards the end of a lackluster first day of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training April 15, Donato Lanni signed the ticket for $900,000 on Hip 190, a well-bred Curlin filly out of the stakes-placed Into Mischief mare Motivated Seller .

Consigned by de Meric Sales, agent, the Klaravich Stables-bred filly breezed the co-fastest eighth of a mile during the first day of the under tack show April 6 when she was clocked going :09 4/5.

Lanni purchased the filly for client Baoma, the same entity that owns recent Santa Anita Oaks (G2) victress and Kentucky Oaks (G1) contender Tenma . He also signed for Tenma at last year’s OBS Spring Sale for $850,000. The daughter of Nyquist currently sits at No. 6 on the Kentucky Oaks leaderboard.”She (Hip 190) was an obvious type of horse,” said Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert, who will train the filly. “She’s athletic, well bred, Curlin’s hot, a good family. She breezed really well. We’re blessed to have clients to be able to buy horses like that.”
