Multiple grade 1 winner Adare Manor brought fireworks to the Fasig-Tipton November Sale ring as she was purchased for $2.8 million by Northern Farm’s Katsumi Yoshida Nov. 4. Consigned as Hip 214 by Hill ‘n’ Dale at Xalapa, the 5-year-old Uncle Mo mare is bound for Japan.

Bred in Kentucky by Town and Country Horse Farms and Gary Broad, Adare Manor raced from 2 to 5 and won eight graded stakes for owner Michael Lund Petersen and Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert.She was purchased for $375,000 by agent Donato Lanni.

Among her career highlights were three grade 1 victories in the Apple Blossom Handicap (G1) at Oaklawn Park and twice in the Clement L. Hirsch Stakes (G1) at Del Mar, including her career-capping, 2 3/4-length victory. She retired with a record of 10-5-0 from 18 starts for earnings of $2,096,600.

Adare Manor is out of the six-time stakes-winning Giant Gizmo mare Brooklynsway. The Ontario-bred’s career was highlighted by a victory in the 2016 Doubledogdare Stakes (G3) at Keeneland.
